  My brother and I went through boot camp together in CO 052 in Dec 79. My favorite time was when I broke the rule and volunteered to be part of the "Miracle Crew". We would get up an hour earlier than everyone else and walk, not march to chow. We'd come back to the barracks when everyone else was marching to chow and get it ready for inspection. A lot of times we would finish early and the CCs would let us go to the geedunk. We would also miss out on a lot of time on the grinder.

  I was in Training Unit 031 Nov 1980 - Jan 1981 With BM1 Cooper and ENC McDaniel as company commanders.

  12/02/75 CO 173. My CC was MM1(SS) Golightly. I went back to Orlando in 1980 as a CC, pushed companies,C005,C007,C041,C242 and two more that I can't remember. Had a ball. Orlando had the best liberty anywhere. My inlaws still live about 1 mile from the main gate. It's really sad what they did to that base.

  10/17/78 CRUITRACOM NTC ORLANDO,FLA RECRUIT TRAINING. I WAS KINDA SAD WHEN I BROUGHT IT UP ON GOOGLE EARTH AND SAW IT WAS A DEVELOPMENT. HAVE FOND MEMORIES. IT WAS THE FIRST STOP ON THE JOURNEY AWAY FM HOME.
