  • I was in C188 Aug-Oct 1986. My last week was the week FL raised the drinking age to 21, so it was a fun liberty weekend, and a dry "A" school in Pensacola the following weekend.
  • I was with Company C194 in Division 5 compartment 1Alpha, right next to the USS Blue Jacket and the South Grinder along perimeter road 1989. I remember Navy World fondly. Moved over to Division 10 compartment 3 alpha to attend Aviation Apprenticeship School. I miss that place..they had a great club and and awesome USO and the waterfront park.
  • I was in company K077 and K076. The reason I was in 2 seperate companies was because I had injured my knees on the tarmac marching.
  • Everybody has to start somewhere! Company 247. 1976. Last rifle company.
  • Ahh, the glory days of boot camp! Nov '84 - Jan '85! Got to go to Sea World on Accompanied Liberty. Missed out on Individual Liberty because I had to report to "A" school in Norfolk, VA that weekend. I think our company was K014, but can't remember for sure.
  • I was in Company 252 in June 1977, remember getting liberty and watching the movie Star wars. I can still remember the smell of RIF. I only took a shower kit with shower shoes and a shaving kit.Used to laugh when people got off the bus with suit cases and had to send all of it home.
  • C141 from April to June of 1988.
  • I was in Company 3016- the 16th company of women recruits to go thru Orlando after they moved RTC(W) from Bainbridge----they cranked our company thru in 8 weeks instead of 10, incentive to NOT get held back was that we graduated only a few days before Christmas 1972. I was JUST out of high school, voted in my first presidential election by absentee. We could have seen a night time space launch go off, but the officers wouldn't let us stay up past our bed time! It turned surprisingly cold for Florida, I discovered 2 pair of pantyhose worn at once kept my legs nice and warm under my new dress blue skirt. Disney World had JUST opened and our company commander said they were having a hard time hiring enough tailors to fit our uniforms, because everybody in town that could sew was making costumes for Walt Disney. The day we had our company picture taken, half of us were in dark blues, and half in summer dress- the rest were still at the shop! Our boot camp liberty was a day at Disney world, Which I really enjoyed after being packed in a room with 50 other women for several weeks- a couple of gals appointed themselves matchmakers for dates with the guys in the battallion across the street, but I said "Thanks, no. I have a "sweetie" in the Air Force, and today I just want to be ALONE LOL
  • I was in Co. 17, starting 11/4/68. Construction workers were still there. Saw the 1st Co. graduate.
I remember that a reserve co. got to march w/ us at graduation after they were only there 2 weeks.
  • Started here in C045 in December of 1984...watched the Space Shuttle take off....
