  • I was stationed in Norfolk in 1967 at the Naval Station and the Naval Deperming Station. 

  • Reported aboard NAS Norfolk June 1973. Discharged November 1976. Assigned to NAS Chiefs Barracks, aircraft transit line, MAC Terminal and AIMD.  Left the service but gave an additional 31 years as a sheetmetal mech, metals inspector and industrial engineering tech at NARF Norfolk. Left NARF in 1986 and stayed 21 years with the Navy Price Fighter group on NavSta Norfolk until 2007.

  • Anyone know of a John Wilson who was a Store Keeper on the L.Y. Spear and later at the supply station on the main base? He was SK1 then SKC when I knew him.

  • Stationed on the Sub Tender L.Y. Spear AS-36 followed by the Carrier USS Nimitz CVN-68 around 1980-1985

  • Was on the USS John F. Kennedy CV-67 at Pier 12. We were tied up across from the Ike.

  • I attended communications school at Naval Station Norfolk in early 1968, fresh out of basic training from San Diego Training Center.  After completing training there, I got transferred back to the west coast on "brother transfer";  my oldest brother was stationed at Coronado, CA, having served in the Navy over ten years.  He went on to complete twenty years, retiring from the Navy later.
