  • I was stationed aboard the "Benny Hill" back in November of 1989 until October of 1990. Right before she was going into the Gulf War (I). I left in Subic. Then saw here again about a year later over in the Gulf when I was working onboard USS Acadia (AD-42). I had some great times, and some not so great times. I sailed as a GSE2 back then. However, it was the Hill that forced me to convert back to my former rating of ET. But that's a long sea story. I'm glad to be with the group.

  • While I was waiting for my next command the USS MISSOURI BB-63 to come back to Long Beach from SoCal Precomm, I saw what the precomm crew of the Hill had to do, like in training and so forth. I last remember this ship when she was beside the MO in practically DIW state. I was amazed at how fast this ship was-it was incredible. She was one of the newest the GasTurbine Engines.
