The USS Arizona Memorial at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. The USS Arizona was sunk on December 7th, 1941 during the attack by the Japanese Imperial Navy. The USS Arizona was struck in her foredeck by an 800 kg bomb, and the bomb penetrated to a forward magazine where it exploded. This explosion nearly split the Arizona in Two. The Arizona sank in approximately 19 minutes and took most of the 1,177 crew members who were lost with her to the bottom of the harbor. The crew members are entombed there today as a fitting final resting place with the ship they served and loved.
