On April 12, 1972, My ship, THE USS CHEVALIER DD 805 was relieved on the Vietnam gunline by the USS HIGBEE. The HIGBEE was hit by an enemy 500 lb. bomb in the aft gun mount becoming, I think, the only US Naval ship to be bombed in during the Vietnam war.
