I report to the mess hall I'm assigned to the butcher shop to work with CS2 Tim who is from Alabama. Mostly Tim runs the machines (grinder, slicer, etc.) and I do the clean up. I'm pretty lucky to get this job instead of other mess cook jobs. we are done by 1400 everyday and I can go back to the barracks and kick back.

I saw how good the cooks had it when I was at my second duty station in Norfolk. That's when I decided to strike for commissaryman. I was happy and always had access to the galley at night if I got hungry.
my two closest friends from the ship were Comissaryman. Still in touch with one of them.
