Luckily I am less than a mile from town. Lake City FL. and as I'm walking along I get a ride from a local, and he takes me to a guy who has a shop that does auto repairs. The shop owner offers help with getting my car to town. We go get my car and he tows it while I steer. After that I leave it in his hands to figure out what is wrong, and I check in to a nearby motel.
