  • Thanks for the add. I noticed that you are an airdale and I wonder if you have taken SERE training. I was the chief instructor at Warner Springs back in the mid 1970s.

    Glad tto be aboard.

  • Thanks, Glad to be aboard. Hope to find some old shipmates. I served aboard the USS Annapolis AGMR1  from May, June of 1966 until I was accepted to Engine A school in Feb. 1967. I was shipped out to Boat Support Unit 1 on Coronado Amphibious Base in June of 1967 and was mustered out in Oct 1969.

  • thanks Ronald. Glad to be on board> I have a few sea stories and looking forward to hearing some> I,m a tin can sailor 22 and a half years and loved every minute of my time in the worlds best Navy>I wish I could ship out right now.

  • I am happy to be another Navy guy to thank you for the welcome. I have always looked upon my time on active duty as the major turning point in my life, changing me from a somewhat self-absorbed, immature kid into a serious, focused young man. I proudly wear my numerous Navy Veteran/Vietnam Veteran caps. My five years of active duty (OCS, Supply Corps School, NSA Danang, and NSA Naples) have left me with many wonderful memories.
  • Hi Ron, I was attempting to add a second command to my page and when I entered "VXN-8" into the search box, it came back with a 1st Class Petty Officer's page.  At this point, I'm not sure how to find and add that command.  Any hints?

    Thanks,

    Richard Heffernan
