  • I take that back. I just saw that Mike Carpenter is on here also.
  • Hey Tim, It looks like you me and Doug are the only ones on here from our era right now. I was on the Sparkle C 1988-92. I remember you well. It's good to see you on here too.

  • Hello Tim,
I served on the Sparkle City 1974-76. I began in 1st Div and later used the striker program to go into Supply as an SH. I had a lot of good times and made some good liberty ports on her. She gave a heck of a ride!!!!

  • Thanks...yes...with so many sailors, it's hard to remember some of them. I was a PN3 working in the ships office. Sometimes I miss those days!
  • Tim,

How are you?! Great to see you on here. Your name rings a (strong) bell... 20 years sucks the gray matter out though, doesn't it? I was an EM2 and got my SW on the Spartanburg.

    Great to see you here!

  • Thanks Bill. Yes, I served from 1987 - 1990. Your son Doug and I served together. The photos he posted looked awfully familiar. Looks like they were right out of the cruise book. You can find me in there as well...X-Division. I was a Personnelman ...so, I knew everyone.
  • Welcome aboard, Tim.
My son Doug, who created this site, served aboard the Spartanburg County.
