"I will find the picture and post it :) I was there for 2 years, there were a few who found a place off-base and extended their tour. I LOVED it there, I lived off-base myself, had a car and even a bicycle for touring the back country!"

GREAT!! I can't wait to see it. I certainly hope the bra and skivvies were "worthy " of flying atop the flagpole. I could see the flagpole in front of the hospital from my barracks room. Sometimes I would stay with a friend who had an apartment off base. I worked labor and delivery/the newborn nursery and in the pediatric clinic at the hospital, I was stationed there 2 years as well, then spent an additional 2 years living at Camp Zama with my ex. I managed the Sagamihara pool when I lived with him.
Well, I can honestly say, that flag wasn't flying when I was stationed there. Too bad. That would have been a real Kodak moment to send back home to the family. I loved it there and didn't want to leave.
I was there at Pendleton...same time as you....after FMS school I was at the main post dispensary (13 area). Tubby and I shared a apartment together for a while until we both got married and then Joy and Cindy came out until we both got out in June of '77.
OK...found you on FB...my FB name is KeithandJoy Tetstone....but you should see it now as I made the friend request. Joy is going to start her on page in a few weeks so mine will change to just Keith Tetstone. Dennis is on FB under Dennis Robertson but he never gets on....here is his email address rdennis.robertson@gmail.com or cindyanddennis@bellsouth.net
Hey Steve, Great to hear from you. I am here in Florida. Joy and I are still teaching but plan on retiring in 3 years. We have two children. Aaron our son is married and has a son Brady. And our daughter Merideth is married but does not have children yet. We stay in contact wit Dennis (Tubby) and Cindy. They currently live in Mobile Alabama. We get together with them at least once a year or so. Are you on Facebook? If not you need to be...it is a great way to catch up with old friends. Stay in touch, Keith

Unfortunately, my ex has all my pics from Japan. I have no contact with him, so I have no way of getting them. : (
