Hi Stanley, don't know if you remember me, I was a radioman on the USS Kawishiwi AO146, 1967=1968, If my memory is correct you were on deck force, came up to the radio shack and inquired about the craft. Glad to see you had a great career and did well in your rate. Well done.

Good to see another RM on here. I see that you went to Rota Spain. I had thought about staying in the navy in 1963 and was going to ask for Rota as a duty station. I was at kami Seya, Japan receiver site (NDT) then GREAT DUTY. I had a few months to be able to take the RM1 test and tried to extend a year to see If I could make it. Was told by the OIC that it would be six years or nothing so I left and went back to Texas and College. Have second thoughts about that now and then. Really liked being an RM.
Where is Sandia, TX ? I grew up south of Dallas in Mesquite and don't remember ever
Seeing Sandia in my travels around the state.
