Where were you or your family stationed?
I went to recruit training in Bainbridge, MD, I was in Co. 15, CC was PN Gaidos and had a sister company 14. We spent two weeks in the WWII barracks before moving to Hunter Hall. After boot, I was stationed at San Diego NAVSTA, 32nd Street. No billets for WAVES at NAVSTA, so barracks at RTC San Diego. The little grey van came and picked us up every a.m. and brought us back in the evening. Loved the Navy, only regret is I should have stayed in.
