Mitchell, I was onboard the Nimitz during the Hostage Rescue attempt also. Went through the Shellback initiation too. I served in the Repair Division from March 1977 through August of 1980.

Philippines Feb/1977 thru May/1978 and NAS Oceana Naval Air Station VA-35 from May/1978 thru August 1980.

I was there also Mitchell during the hostage rescue attempt working ships crew flight deck Aviation Ordnance. Our paths probably crossed a few times.
