I have been so busy here at my new job, helping other veterans, that I haven't gotten the chance to really explore the site as much as I would like,

  • Don't know you Chief but thanks for the welcome. I live in Richland Washington, where the made the big bomb for Japan, (Hanford Nuke Plant) pretty famous for cold war guys. They say we all glow in the dark around here. Glad to know you. Old Jimmy and I were mates on the Annapolis in Nam, havn't seen or heard from Him for at least 35 years. Thanks again. Jim

  • Thanks Chief .

  • I graduated from HM 'A' School at the old "Grey Ghost" in Balboa, San Diego around March 1959 and my first duty station after graduation was at the Naval Hospital in Corpus Christi, Texas as an HA.  After subsequent assignments on Ward Duty I was promoted to HN, HM3 and HM2 and assigned on the job training as an XRay Tech.  My enlistment was up in October 1962 but was involuntarily extended due to the so-called "Cuban Crisis" and ordered to duty aboard the MSTS Ship "USNS Barrett" out of San Francisco. Aboard the Barrett I held 'sick call' for our Marine, Army troops and the civilian military dependents to Far East Ports. I was discharged as HM2 in October 1963.
