Where were you or your family stationed?
Started as Regular NROTC student at Harvard. Then stationed in San Francisco on USS Mauna Kea (AE-22). During Cuban Missile Crisis, helped convert USS Mattaponi (AO-41) from tanker to oiler. Then did two Operation DeepFreeze cruises to Antarctica as Operations Officer, USS Glacier (AGB-4), "the free world's most powerful icebreaker." Completed service on Active Reserves in NYC onboard USS Bristol.

thank john the Navasota was my first ship out of shore duty I went aboard as a e-3 and through I knew everything first night we had night fuel ops boy was I scared. I retired as a storekeeper what was your mos.
