"My best friend and me joine the Navy together in 8/1966. We were in company 490. The CC was BM1 Hayden. after boot camp my friend was stationed in China Lake, never on a ship, while I became a BT on the Forrestal."
I remember Espisito, he was an OIL-KING and I think he worked in one of the mains for a while. I don't get out much any more. I have a little breathing problem and put on 200lb after I retired from BellSouth and got Diabetes. So much fun. Just before I had to retire we had 23 horses and about 14 boys here every weekend. There was a lot to do 4x4, 4-wheelers, horse shows and BULL-RIDING. I was hard on each one mostly my son Leon. You may remember a was always kind of a hard A** in 4 main, but the guys always new I was there for them. What are you going to do in Jacksonville? Bill
Jimmy, How's it going after 42yrs? I do belong to the Forrestal site. I go to the VA with a guy that was on with us back in the paint shop or something. I don't get up on facebook or other walls that often. I had a small stroke or something and my spelling can get bad at times, Thank God for spell check. Have you been on her after you got out, I went to Jacksonville with wife and kids about a year be fore she was removed from service. I live in Geneva, Fl what about you?..Bill E-Mail: painthos@bellsouth.net
Quite possibly BM1 Hayden and I crossed paths at RTC, but as for serching out a memory from 45 years ago, hard to do now.
I do have all the "Anchor" books from all of the companies I "pushed", and mine from when I went through training. That would be the only way I could conjure up any memories from that long ago. Sorry.
Glad to run into a fellow snip on this site. Thanks for your service. Guess BTs and MMs are a thing of the past in today's Navy.
