Hey Hans, my dad was a Tin Can sailor also, he was a TMC and served on them during WWII and Korea. He retired in 1958 after 26 yrs his last duty station was the Post Naval Grad school in Monterey, Ca. One thing that I remember was when he took there a few times they had a model of the U.S.S Midway CV-41 and being only 6 yrs old the model looked huge but it probably wasn't that big
