You just never know how normal you are

From the time I enlisted to the day I left,I realized that I am pretty low key in terms of normalcy or should I say AB-normalcy.The people we meet that we serve with, the things they have done and still do astounds me to tears of laughter, and sometimes frightful shock, lol. While stationed in the galley at RTC Orlando in 83,we had to come to the galley 3 hours early that day for a special command arriving to be fed and it was a huge number of personnel arriving so we had to be ready for them.It was mistakenly NOT passed down to the night cook since he was already there working. Well, when several of us walked into that galley that morning several hours early,no one would have ever imagined that they would see the night cook and a lady friend with him, butt naked in one of the 80 gallon kettles taking a bubble bath. You should have seen our faces, but what was better than that was THEIR faces! The supply officer was walking in behind us,saw them, and yelled "Everybody out to the back lot!" I guess he wanted a few comforting, consoling words with the two suds makers for himself. What we heard from outside would have made a marine drill sergeant proud,I tell you. well, you just never know how normal you are, compared to many that you meet in this fine military. They have sure given us plenty of stories and entertaining hours for telling our friends and families. Aint life fun?
