Veteran's Day, 2009

Well, my brothers and sisters, we have another Veteran's Day upon us. I know this because the special sales ads have already started, on TV and the radio. Billboards are even getting their facelift, with those special deals that we've gone without until this holiday.Personally, I don't know how I ever existed before the advent of using holidays like Veteran's Day and Memorial Day, and oh yeah, let's not forget the 4th of July, for selling clothes, cars, appliances, and groceries. And before I get hammered for speaking out about this, again. Yes, I am aware that I made a post about this same exact thing prior to this one. But, I happen to think that it is uncalled for to extend wishes to Vets, past and present, by selling items just......JUST for the mentioned holiday. It actually makes me want to puke, to be honest. So, without wasting alot of time venting my frustration and boring those that read this, I want to (not because I have to ) but WANT to say "Thank You"................to ALL veterans. Those that have served and those that are serving now.I also want to extend my salute to the crew of the USS New York. All that's left to say is,"What a ship, what a crew, what a Navy". I, for one, am very proud to say that I served in the world's finest Navy. Fair winds and calm seas."Dutch"P.S. In no way is this post meant sorely for Navy veterans. I salute ALL vets, ALL branches. Although, I may be a bit partial to the USN, if you follow my drift.
