New "Old Bubblehead"

Hello, everyone. I just joined and wanted to say "Ahoy". Just a brief autobiographical rundown: I joined the Navy January 3, 1963 and went to boot camp in San Diego. I volunteered for submarine duty while there and was posted to Basic Enlisted Submarine School in New London/Groton, Connecticutt, Class 278. Upon graduation, I was posted to USS Menhaden SS377 in San Diego. After qualirfying in submarines and making a WestPac run plus many other training ops, I was given orders to Fleet ASW School in San Diego for Sonar A school. After A school, I attended C school for some specific sonar gear. I was then posted to USS Halibut SS(N)587 in Pearl Harbor. From that command I was posted to USS Stonewall Jackson SSB(N)634 Blue Crew where I spent the remainder of the seven years of my Naval service. I was honorably discharged as ST1(SS) on January 3, 1970 and returned to civilian life. As I'm sure all of you are, I'm very proud of my Naval service and the opportunity to serve my country in the military. God Bless America!
