    David, do a search on Ebay. There's always a bunch on there. I don't remember ours in 72 being as fancy as some I see on there. I thought we had only one or two loops.

    I think now they use social security number on the 3rd row.  Not sure when they started that.  My dog tags are from1961.  When I went in Army in 1980, there were going to put my social security number on my new dog tags.  Instead of changing anything, they authorized me to wear my Navy dog tags.  Army never did give me any new dog tags.

    dog tags:First row: last name.  2nd row: first name, middle initial.  3rd row : selective service number followed by branch of service. mine was 588 92 28 USN.  4th row: blood type.  5th row: religious preferance.
