After watching and listening to Sgt Meyer, as with the other recipients of the MOH and witnessing their humble and hesitant acceptance of the honor, could it be we are in the company of and witnessing the actions of another "great" generation! This Marine's actions are up there with the most deserving of the MOH!Semper Fi Marine! You make us all feel humbled!
SGT Meyer had applied to FDNY and was supposed to take the entrance exam which is given every four years. He missed the exam date because it was the same day of his MOH award ceremony. He was offered an extension and an opportunity to test but turned it down because all the other applicants were not offered the same extension. He now has to wait another 4 yrs to test. What an example of HONOR!!!!
