LET US NOT FORGET

Let us not forget what tomorrow is; December 7, 2008 "a day that will live in infamy"! I know we never will.I always wanted to visit Pearl Harbor and pay my respects. My father was a First Class Petty Officer who served in the Navy during WWII. He had a friend, who had a friend, who was on board the Arizona when it sank. He is still there, entombed with the other Sailors.See ya.Clayton

  • I think about World War 2 history all the time like with another event in just 4 days; The Battle of the Bulge Dec.16th, 1944. I understand though about not thinking about these events until those days.

Well check my little Remembrance to Pearl Harbor Day before I change my space again: usnavyshellback
Sit back, enjoy the videos and of course the music.
I plan on changing the site pretty quickly so you can always check what I have done with it by clicking that link. One of my friends is chasing the Soviet, err, Russian Fleet near Venezuela in his tin-can.

    Salute!
  • Sounds like Duck season should be opened up! A bunch of Lame ducks in the Senate and Congress with no end in sight.
  • Hey Tim,
I, like many others, will never forget 9/11 but I save that for 9/11 and I save the Pearl Harbor attack on December 7th of each year. I try not to think about those events of history until those days. If I want to think of anything,I think about the lame-duck president that went after a country that had nothing to do with 9/11 and those terrorists are still alive to this day because of a lame-duck president. Now, a bunch of lame-ducks elected another lame-duck and now there is even a less of a chance to catch those responsible for 9/11.
  • Good thread and I am sure you all checked out the videos I uploaded/embedded.

Todd, I agree but let us not forget 9/11 which was another surprise attack on our soil. Someday, like you Clayton, I also want to go visit and pay my respects.

  • Thank you Clayton for starting this thread in honor of the fallen on Battleship Row on that unfateful Sunday 67 years ago today. The surprise Japanese attack in Hawaii at Pearl Harbor on our US Fleet is a strong reminder of the price of freedom we take for granted everyday. I have always said a small prayer for the men, women, soldiers and sailors who either lost their lives or who survived this day so many years before my time. I ask that everyone follow my lead and pray on this day every year as I have. I pray that something like this never occurs on my watch and during my children's lifetime.
