Started in 1974 San Diego for boot camp, went to Tenn. for A school, got orders to VA-82 Cecil Field,Fla. Made first cruise on the Nimitz and became a Plankowner as our squadron was first to fly aboard. Went on a North Alantic cruise and a Med cruise. That was from 1974-1977. Next set of orders took me to Pt Mugu, NAS Ca. were I worked the wheel and tire shop for 1 1/2 years and then the Hydro Repair Shop (AIMD) for the next 1 1/2 years and was discharged in August 1980,I made it to AMH-2.
