Howdy

I was active duty Marine Corps Aviation, MOS 6072. My 1st duty station was with HMA-169 at Camp Pendleton Calif, then went to NAS South Weymouth from 9/77 to 10/80. After that I was at MCAS El Toro with Det Mag 11, worked both at the HAMS level GSE and then QA for a couple years. Of the 3 duty stations I can honestly say that most of my best service memories where at South Weymouth, I still to this day remember the folks I served with both on active duty and Marine and Navy reservists.

Just out of curiosty, did anyone that serve there after me on duty section have the same problem with the Colors freezing at the top of the flag pole during winter months, that made for some interesting times tring to lower the colors at taps, and did they ever rebuild the bowling alley? I was there the winter that the new bowling ally and exchange litterly burned to the ground.
