I have to apologize for not being on here as often as I'd like but I have been very busy. But I wanted to at least wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving to you and your families. All the best from myself and my wife. This wish is for EVERYONE that reads this. There are many of you out there that don't know me and vice versa. Makes no matter. We may not have ever met, or served together but my feeling is pretty simple. I served in the USN and if you're on this site, you did too. I feel that this makes us "friends" and "shipmates" and I do not turn away from friends. Too bad others don't feel the same way. Take care and have a happy holiday.Dutch

Yes ,there is a bond between us, I just wish this younger generation would wake up and see what we and our many Brothers and Sisters saw and believe in. Thank you my Brother for your service,to answer the call. And thank you Doug, for creating this site to bring us all together. As I read through many of the comments made by all of you about different subjects since I have joined Navy Vets. I can see a strong bond that still shines through, " WE THE PEOPLE " True " PATRIOTS " we are and always will be, I am Honored to be still standing with such fine folks,as all of you. Brothers Al, Tim, "D", we are truly a brotherhood with a bond that many admire and maybe have a hard time understanding how it works. It's simple............WE ARE THE TRUE "PATRIOTS". We have all practiced what others preached, we answered the call and did what we could to defend this great country. No one on earth can take that away from us. I was under the weather during "Veterans Day", so now I HAVE to give ALL a heartfelt "SALUTE" and thank ALL that have served and say "THANK YOU".
One nice thing about having a site like this is that it allows us to reconnect with friends and meet new ones with one common bond. That bond my friends, will always be here no matter how busy we all may get in our real lives.

Dutch, Your right on the mark with that comment, I said before alot of my non-military friends, my boys, and my wife are just amazed at how perfect strangers will greet each other as if they have known each other for ever. All I can do is say it's a brotherhood that know one can explain until you have been there done that. So Brother Dutch same to you and yours,and by now everyone is full of turkey dinner and eating left-overs,but from me and mine have a great holiday and be careful. LOL, D.John Maddalena
