U.S. Navy Submarine Veterans

Howdy, folks, I have just found a great site for Submariners.
It has many interesting features, one of which is the ability to access photos of you Sub School graduation class.
Try it out.

Thanks for the welcome. Lot to see here. I like the photo setup and slideshow feature, more so than other sites I've belonged to, much more user-friendly.

My dad, Maynard Leon Nelson was in the Navy and Reserves from 1965 approximately, to 1988. I am hoping his name will ring a bell with someone who will remember him :) He died in 1988.

There was not able to add my call up to service in 2004 in which I was injured in prep for iraq. Med retired. Not a lot of people from the USS Yosemite here yet. I'll see if we can fix that.

Thank you for approving my membership. I am excited to find another shipmate - Darrel R. McDew from the USS Arnold J. Isbell DD 869, when I was onboard. Have only been contacted by one other since 1967. Hope some other shipmates come join....Myles

Thank you Chief Karr! I think this will be a fun and informative site. I sure do wish I had my naval photo but I never did have a professional one taken so is it alright if I upload my personal picture?

Thank you Bill. To this date, the Submarine Service is the greatest experience I ever had. Regrettably, I was medically boarded in my third year of service. While I never filed a claim with the VA, I did manage a career in law enforcement, including the positions of casework, investigations and resource instructor at our state LE academy. I am still a part of the military community through my wife, who is retired from the Air Force, and my previous and recent DoD job at MCRD-Parris Island and MCAS-Beaufort with one tour in Al-Anbar, Iraq assigned to 1st Marine Logistics Group as a civilian specialist. So, I guess I have transitioned the military in one form or another over a period of 35 years. I will try to upload a picture of me in the Navy, and perhaps in Iraq too.

Thanx Bill for your comment. I've no doubt I will enjoy Navy Veterans. I have several shipmates I plan on inviting already. I have one shipmate in particular I have been trying to find but its kinda hard when I can't remember her name, just her particulars, but eventuall I will find someone who will remember her. Well enough of my yakking. If I need any help navigating my way around Navy Veterans may I call on you?
