This picture of our President (then a candidate) was not in context. In any case, placing the hand on the heart during the anthem is NOT REQUIRED, nor is it a sign of disrespect if not done. Patritotism is in the heart and soul of an American. Out...

My story is not a hapy one.I am diagnosed with colon cancer and a heart problem by my local VA hospital. This has left me unable to work.I do have social security filed and it looks good.I also have a claim filed with the VA for benefits. But we are losing everything waiting for these benefits to come through.

Hi Bill,

Being as salty as you are, do you know any aviation folks from VA-27 or VA-97 from 1969 to 1970? I am researching an accident where a sailor was sucked into the intake of an A-7 jet while waiting to launch. Have not found any mention while researching VA-27 or 97. I am checking with VSO's also. Am hoping another set of eyes and ears might help. Thank you for the welcome and any assistance. Doug Foster, AO3.

Thank you for giving me the chance to join such a great group
people. I try to collect as much of Navy items and stories
that I can. I enjoy working with models of all kinds of ships.
I would love to get a model of the U.S.S. Holland (AS-32), if
was possible. That was a good duty statiion. Shipmatew

Thanks Bill. I like the site's concept. I hope it evolves into something that collects ex-navy and puts us back in contact with shipmates.
