HI Jim, I got out of the Navy the month you went in. I was a Tin Can Sailor and pulled into GITMO many times during training. I had to laugh at the 5 cent Buds. When Fleet Sailors were in port we were only allowed to go to the EM Club and drink 10 Cent mixed drinks. They would then "pour" us aboard the "Cattle Cars" and take us back to the docks where there was always a fight or two going on. Oh those were the days. Welcome aboard.

Hi Jim,
Yes, I do remember you. The other dog's name was Snoopy !. The little guy you were talking about was Gayle Patten. I remember he kept track of the sodas and pot pie dinners that we bought ! There was a 3rd or 2nd class PO named Lloyd Sampson and he was always ragging on another guy named Steve Bales. If I remember correctly, didn't you live in New York ? I work in South Plainfield. Here's my email at work jtrubbo@multiplexinc.com . maybe we can get together after work sometime to talk about the good old days in the Navy.
