  • Yes, the USS Vulcan was in the same exact convoy my dad's ship, USS Charles Carroll (APA-28) was in on the way to invade North Africa in 1942.  (Reference the book, "Attack Transport USS Charles Carroll" written by Kenneth Goldman, available on line through Amazon) 

  • She was a great ship that made a lot of history A gang 63-65
  • All four of them were good ships.  Except maybe the Ajax.  A ship doesn't get a name like "Benjo Maru" for nothing...
