I have never visited The Wall, but I do have a younger brother memorilized there. He was drafted into the Army and within two years he was gone, Jan 1967.
At one time while I was in the Tonkin Gulf aboard the USS Ticonderoga I had a brother in-country with the Army (not the one just mentioned), and a brother in the Air Force in Thailand. We all retired from our respective services, me Navy 20 years, the brother in the Air Force 26 years, and the brother in the Army 28 years. Yet another brother left the Army after ten years due to hearing problems.
That is five sons my parents had take a part in the war effort. We owed it to him. During WWII he tried to join the Army with his two brothers and got turned down, to many dependants. I think we made him proud.
I also think I can speak for all of them when I say "Thank You" Wayne Bartlett for your service. If you ever visit The Wall again, pass your hand over the name of Thomas Joseph Barbee, and say "Hi". He'll appreciate it.
