Net Laying Ship (AN) Photo Index
  • A picture just like this hangs on my wall at home, USS WINTERBERRY was built right here in my home town Stockton Ca. My father went aboard the day she was launched and served her until the end of ww2. She was one of ten wooden type net laying ships built at the Pollack ship yard during the war.

  • I would love to find this ship, she was sold and became a 860 ton fishing vessel. I have tracked it's history up to 1965 but the trail went cold and I don't know where to turn. The last name I had on her was the Atlantic Reefer sailing under the Liberian flag, she was reported to have foundered in the straights of Paraguay or maybe Yucatan I cant remember which. Are there any ship detectives out there ??
