Photo of the Branch Dispensary where I worked on Okinawa, the ambulance in the background was a true dinosaur. One night when TJ Bogle and I went on call to a remote site a few miles north of our location to pick up a Marine who had overdosed on the local alcoholic opium based drink Habu-Habu...well bringing him back to the dispensary the lights inside and outside went out on the road...TJ Bogle had to use a flashlight to move through traffic and I had to use a flashlight to check my patient in the rear of the ambulance. It all worked out when we arrived at the base under JP (Japanese Police) escort....what an experience that was!
