And of course the wonders that awaited in the bars directly ahead.

My first crossing over the malodorous feculent Olongapo River in 1969 was a tad intense to say the least. But then, after crossing back to base after many beers, it was only mildly noticed.
Funny how fast you can adapt to new surroundings with the utilization of learning aids.

how i remember i was stationed at the naval air station cubi (radioman) from 66 to 68 crossed the bridge many times throwing coins into the river and watching children dive from them.

The shacks across the river are all gone,been replaced with a super mall,I will try to post pictures when I get back to Subic,i live in AC right now.
Wow nice pic,I was stationed in Subic in 79 and 80,I remember the kids charging 5p to throw them off the bridge.
