Actually Ron, it has never been turned over to "civilian use". It has been used by the Sea Cadets, but it is still in a "limbo"! It is owned by the City and in the custody of the developer. It is suppose to be "turned over" to a bonified and qualified veteran's organization for use as a museum and reunion venue. That just hasn't happened yet.
It does have registered historical landmark status. However, that hasn't been much good for other areas of NTC lately!
