  • This picture shows the light bars I made to fit on top of the cross bed tool box.  The side lids of the box can stilll open and the lights don't hit.  Inside the box I kept a chainsaw, fuel for the saw, winching accessorties, air pump, first aid kit, axe, thirty foot two inch wide tow strap, tool box with wrenches and screwdrivers and stuff to patch gas, tanks, etc.  The kid is blocking the view of the rear bumper.  It has two places a shackle can be put and the winch cable run down under the truck from the front through the shackle and on to a tree or other place and the truck could be pulled backwards out of a hole.

Also on the light bars are two lights facing back.  These were great for backing up at night and seeing what was in the bed of the truck.  I later added one light on each side that faced to the side and these were great for looking at addresses on houses and setting up the tent next to the truck for the night as we did in Canada.  All the lights were controlled on a switch panel on the front console in the cab.

Those yellow covers kept getting stolen and after a while I just quit buying more and running with the lights uncovered.  Never did get a ticket for the lights at all.  Those lights were sure nice for driving down gravel roads at night!  If you stood ten feet in front of the truck with all the lights on, you could feel HEAT!
