  • I was drafted, but before I opened the letter drafting me I made a rapid trip to the Navy.  That was in October 1970, reported to Orlando boot camp in May 1971.  Then I went to A school at Naval Hospital San Diego. Then I was on board the USS Anchorage LSD-36 until I went to Medical Deep Sea Diving school.   My next duty was by far my most rewarding and enjoyable.  In late 1972 in think, dont know the time period, I was stationed with Inshore Undersea Warfare Group - One at Coronado, Calf.  This command had many functions such as Sea Lion training for recovery of unexploded missles and bombs.   Bottle nose dolphins for swimmer detection in habors and ports with U.S. Navy ships that may be at a higher risk.  Also, electronic warfare detection on land and at sea, at the time I was the only Corpsman to be

     

  • Chuck, is that you in third from left in the third photo down on the left side of the page?  I am on the far left of the 2nd photo down on the left.  My first cousin, Mike, is 2nd from left in the 4th photo down on the left side of the page.

    Can you believe it was that long ago?  Christianson was great!
