  • My company in 1968 was 423.

  • Harold I think during that time with Viet Nam really getting hot, they were pushing a lot more guys through. We had San Diego, Great Lakes and before I got out they opened a boot camp in Florida. I think Orlando.

  • We folded our jacket and with our notebook tucked them in the back of our duty belt. I feel like my group Co. 196 in April of 1966 must have been part of the last group of folks who wore the OD leggings. Seems like all the guys who's posted from late 66 on didn't wear them those before did.. Bobby Herbert who graduated in Dec. 66 from Great Lakes says they wore them. I'm just glad I'm not old enough to have slept in a hammock!

  • Daniel, Last night Terry and I discussed the leggings thing that everyone is commenting about. I went to RTC Sept. 1967 and drug out my Anchor a while ago and the only pictures I can find is where we wore legging as backup for a graduating class and when we graduated. Oh,I was in 550. There are two pictures of a company on the bridge captioned, "Primary Companies" and one on the firing range and these taken in our dungrees. Guess after 46 yrs. I guess I need the Anchor to shake the mind.

  • Graduated with Company 609, Great Lakes, Dec. 1966.  We wore the leggings, that's where we kept out note book, folded into and stuffed in the legging.

  • I had to refresh my memory by looking at my Anchor.

  • Our group may well have been the last to wear the OD leggings. They probably went back to WW2. I don't remember if we wore them after we left primary training. I know we just wore them with our dungarees and not with our whites. We all wore white leggings at graduation.

  • I graduated Aug.68 and we wore the duty belt everyday, no OD leggings and only wore the white leggings at graduation.
