A Balao Class Submarine. Originally to be the fleet submarine Gato according to the Lindberg model company. This is a very old kit produced by them around 1948 and probably one of the first plastic model kits offered for assembly. But it is still today offered for sale on Amazon and some other sources. I even saw one at an Ollies outlet one day. The detail is not too good but that is what they still offer and since it resembled that class of submarine I renamed it. I had ordered the kit a few months ago, painted and assembled it and used the wooden base from another old ship. The Zippo lighter is, well..........just something I put there.
