Originally a "DL" and known as Frigates (before they reclassified the Knox/Perry/Garcia DE's) they some times filled roles as cruisers .. the resident DL in Pearl Harbor during the 70's was the PREBLE also know as "Bonecrusher" .. and was the Flagship for DesFlot5.
