First visit to Yokosuka was in 1958 as an RM2 with ComLanShipRon 7 embarked in the USS Wexford County (LST-1168).  Quite an experience for a young sailor.  Each time I returned until my last visit on the USS Razorback (SS394) in 1967, you could see how Japan was changing.  Used to go to a hotel in Oppama to stay overnight, go to the Geisha shows and meet people.  What an experience.
