I was there for a short time in '74 and again in '75.  Wandered around the base and discovered the white anchor and chain that was decorating the front gate and various other places was off the old USS Oregon (BB-3) which I studied about and built a model of.  I was surprised to find it there.  I took pictures of it which are posted on my page.  I am originaly from Oregon, so I had an interest in that ship.

I was stationed at CNFJ N35 94-96. Worked in the cave some of the time then moved over to another building I can't really discuss. Let's just say it was salmon colored, pretty tall and had a really cool parking structure on the over level...

Worked in ComNavFe in Tokyo from December 1947 to February 1949. Transfered to Yokosuka Fleet Activities until November 1949.Worked in the communication room in the Administration Building near the main gate in teletype and occasionally handled the voice yard circuit. Best duties that could be had at the time. How things have changed since those days.
