USS Orion AS-18

USS ORION was the sixth FULTON - class submarine tender and the second ship in the Navy to bear the name. After almost exactly 50 years of service, the ORION was both decommissioned and stricken from the Navy list on September 3, 1993.

aboard Orion from 11-85 to 10-87.   totally enjoyed visiting other ports, Athens, Naples and other visits.

I am looking for anyone who served on the USS Orion, that may have contracted asbestosis. My husband was on the Orion from 1959 - 1963.

I was on the Orion from April 1977 to June 1980. I was an ET in R4 division. I enjoyed being in Charleston, SC for those 3 years.

I was on the Orion as one of the ships drivers from 1963 to 1966. I was TAD to D1. I came aboard while the ship was in dry dock in Portsmith Va..

Looking for those who may know my dad he recently passed away and I really would like to find anyone who knew him and find any pictures anyone may have or know where I could find more info about his navy days ? I was an HT2 in Ships company, worked in the CO2 Locker (74/75).
