Served on the 1977 cruise in Navigation Division.  Exited out Dec. 1977.  Hate to see her go to scrap.  Good ship.  Good shipmates.

INDY was my last tour of duty .. March'92 was the last CV in Subic Bay, made trips to Sydney and Perth, on the way to two different AG deployments.

Was AAW Chief in CDC and ran the only underway Air Intercept Controller School afloat as Lead Instructor/Curriculum manager. Graduated my first AIC school class underway May'92, and several more after that during the two years aboard.

Was FireWatch DivO for yard period in '93

Was DC Locker Leader for 2F '93-'94
Hosted CNO for Christmas Breakfast in CPO Mess as Mess Caterer.
Had the CPO Mess crew on 5 Section Liberty in Thailand Mar'94.
Had my Dad aboard for the Tiger Cruise from Hong Hong to Japan '94.
Got "Bonged OFF" and had almost 100 crew as Sideboys when I checked out.

Great tour of duty!

Came aboard Feb. 73 reported to the steam heat and cat shop. Then I worked in the 02n2 shop and from there I was assigned as a ppo. Left Indy Feb. 75. Some great people and a good duty station.
