Worked in R-2 rewind shop as EM3 and EM2; and after becoming EM1 ran the Sound Analysis Shop until leaving for Great Lakes Instructor school.

Came aboard in Sept 1971 and served there for 5 years. Reenlisted while on board. Made the 5.5 moth trip to La Maddelena, Italy when we opened the base there.

I was on board for 1 year. Was in deck dept 2nd division with a rank of BM3. Left the ship on 7-11-75 on the way to civilian life. Now a retired auto worker living in Florida.I worked for MCPO Cassidy a big man to say the least. And mean to, yes he was tough. We would remove all torpedos off the subs and then remove all electrical motors and diesel engines that needed repairs.

I was attached to FMAG for a short time in 1975, had a shop on Fulton and a trailer in the parking lot. We basically repaired submarines tied along side.
