USS Grand Canyon (AD-28) was a Shenandoah-class destroyer tender built at the tail end of World War II, and named for the Grand Canyon on the Colorado River.

Reported aboard in 1972 after returning from Viet Nam,...advanced to ET1 and assigned to R-4 admin, and shop 67A repair,...got loaned out to Repair Dept Admin (ARRS) Analysis/Records and Reports Section for 18 months...then changed homeport to Jacksonville, Fld. transferred off in 75.
