I was stationed at T.I. for a period of 2 years and I met the love of my life there! working as a lowley HM3 at the Dispensary, always thought that the Island was a magical placeto be stationed.except for the earthquakes. lookink out everyday towards SanFrancisco and seeing Alcatraz between us and SanFraciscio was Beautifull! olny bad part was the Brig.felt sorry for prisoners.

When were you on TI Gordan? I was in Personnel too. Where were you assigned? Do you remember any of the other people in Personnel at the time?

Was assigned to the Personel Support Detachment on TI. Retired from this assignment June 1982

I spent a number of months there in 1959 going to Radar A school and playing in the Schools Command Band. I remember we used to play for a drill team there that used to do all of their drills is half time.......fantastic group but kind of weird to watch until you got used to them. Had a great time at TI and was sorry to see it go. Always thought it was a great base and the view was fantastic.

I recall that "somehow" Chief Moffett tried to stay in Subic Bay as much as possible. After leaving TI, that was where he wanted to return. There were several other chiefs I worked with, but I sure can't remember their names!

Paul - I didn't know Chief Moffett. We weren't there a lot except to sleep and eat breakfast.

Ann - I don't recall meeting Louise Sparkman. Like I said, we weren't around to meet many who were stationed there. Just being there 2 weeks at a time and most of the time was at the Oakland Army Base for schools.

After they closed TI, we spent our sleepy time over at Alameda.

Was there in 1960 waiting transportation to Key Port Washington, was back in 1962 to transfer to PI. Mustered out there. Remember how cold it seemed coming from Nam.

Have a son stationed at Alameda Coast Guard Station who inspects the station on TI.

Wow Ann and Bruce, I hay have had the pleasure of meeting you all.  I was in Peronnel from very late '77 (December) through '79. Bruce, did you know a Chief Moffett at TI?

Ann, I knew pretty much everyone at the Dispensery.
