it's kind of funny the last ship I was on was the Coral Sea, on board for 11 months          August 13th 1962 my discharge  date as I was sitting in the launch to go ashore I ran into 2 others that I'd gone through boot camp with. 11 months and I'd never seen either one. our company was either 301 or 501 it's been too long

Update: Just returned from driving from Louisiana to San Diego. I had easy access to the old NTC and USS Neversail. The old footbridge has been replaced with a wide new one. If you walk out on the bridge you have a great view of the airport and both sides of what left of NTC. MCRD also pulled out.

Same here Bob. In contact with a one or two guys from other duty stations. But none from boot camp.

It has been just over 50 years since I left boot camp, and in all those years I have yet to make contact with anyone from my company, 66-745. I've been to plenty of reunions over the years and have met many I served with from various other commands, but still waiting for that elusive NTC shipmate to show up. I did find one boot member over on the TogetherWeServed site, but he didn't reply to my inquiry.

Just curious. But it's been a little over 51 years since I graduated from Boot Camp. How many of you folks still have contact with any of your old shipmates ? I still have one or two.

Got it done on the photo album of the Viet Nam vets (Vietnam Veterans photo club).  I have worked hard to help a lot of us, but so many of us suffer from PTSD it is hard to live life.  God Bless

Thanks James it would be wonderful.

I do want to tell all that the 2nd paragraph to the end is an exert from my friend Jim Davis who writes a weekly letter to inform veterans of the current pending legislation and DoD information for the benefits and services for us veterans. His dad was in Vietnam as was I. His web site is Veterans for Change.

I used his news of Graham Gentles to pass along to all my memberships to military site and forums.

Last I checked there was still 95,000 of us Vietnam vets still around and it never hurts to keep all informed hat we are.

Thanks again for your offer. Will look it up on acebook.
