I was stationed at GTMO Feb.'69-Feb.'70. Worked at the LOX Plant for Chief Sullivan over at the Air Station. The Plant was located at the end of the runway overlooking the bay. Remember $.05 Buds during Happy Hour at the outdoor E.M. clubs. Also those damn crabs all over the roads and the outdoor movies.

The Guantanamo Bay Association held its 2009 reunion in Gettysburg last month. We had 53 people in attendance and look forward to an even larger group next year in Branson. The majority of those in attendance were in GITMO in the 1960s, but all eras were represented. The staff at The 1863 Inn at Gettysburg were fantastic and I would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the Gettysburg area. The Branson dates are tenatively set for October 25-29. More details can be found at our website www.gitmobay.org.

I remember walking guard with a nightstick and white helmet liner and the beer parties. Had a decent time there.
