Enlisted 11/68 and attended basic at RTC San Diego, Company 819.  Attended P and A schools at NATTC Memphis and spent two years at Whiting Field aboard VT-2.  Final rotation was with VAW-122 aboard the USS Independence out of Norfolk.  Discharged to reserves in September 1972.  Final rating was AMH-2.

Looking for ET3 Doug Storkan.  Served with him at NSAD Chu Lai, RVN '67 -'68. Was from around White Bear Lake, as I remember.

Joined the Navy 6-6-58 from Faribault two days after HS graduation.  Ended up doing twenty.  Would have stayed longer but they wanted to put me on a third carrier.  Two were too many!

I joined the Navy in Friendly Fridley's Moon Plaza. Was in the catch program, so was sworn in the reserves in March and chose to go active in July, right after my oldest brothers wedding. My next to the oldest brother was drafted into the Army, so I made sure that I would not be drafted, so I joined the Navy. My flight to San Diego was my first time on a jet airplane and I loved every minute of it. We took off into a huge thunderstorm at the Minneapolis/St Paul international airport. Nothing but good memories now......
